1 Corinthians 2 Our Focal Point
Our focal point in life,
in speech should be Christ. Everything
we do should point to Him. We are called
to share the gospel. Even when we speak
no words at all, our actions should be a picture of Jesus. We do not need eloquent speech, but only to
share simply of the power of God.
Vs. 1, 7, 9, 10 When I (Paul)
came to you, I did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to
you the testimony of God. For I
determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. We speak of the wisdom of God. Eye has not
seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which
God has prepared for those who love Him. God has revealed them to us through
His Spirit.
Ah, my fellow believer,
we can’t imagine all that God wants to give to us who love Him with all our
hearts. All we need is a willing heart
and a deep, committed love for God. I wonder
what is holding us back. Perhaps we do
not share with others because our lifestyle, our actions and our words do not
reflect the Savior. Just what are we
speaking; is it words of wisdom or instead constant futile, mindless, griping,
complaining, gossip and expressions of personal pet peeves or unimportant
issues? Let us this day beg God to give
us a heart to constantly reflect His love in our lives. Let us allow Him to let us be slow of speech,
reaching out for His wisdom in each word that we say. Let us be humble and willing to seek
forgiveness when our speech and actions do not glorify Him. Let us come to a place in our hearts that He
is truly our focal point.
