What a sweet reminder that on this day, Sunday, I can again spend some extra time alone with Him, feasting in His Word and resting in His incomparable presence.
Vs. 2 “Feasts of the Lord” means appointed times of the Lord. This is my appointed time, a joyful, happy sacrifice of my time to better know Him and pray for added wisdom in my heart and life. The Israelites had 13 Feasts and Sacred times to commemorate special events of God. What wonderful opportunities we can take to honor Him: our daily time alone with Him, a set aside day to worship in His house and rest every week, and all those special holidays to commemorate His birth-Christmas, His death and resurrection-Easter, and a day of wonderful Thanksgiving. Vs.14 “It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.” We too, can pass down those precious traditions to our families during the holidays by bringing Him into full focus and not be swept away by all the ‘glitter’ that surrounds us. We can review before our family and loved ones the many blessings of our past and joy in our present and future blessings.
Vs. 22 Make it a habit to give to the poor.
